Rushes Soho Shorts will run from 23rd – 30th July 2009. 4. Munich International Short Film Festival: Call for submissions
Munich International Short Film Festival takes place directly prior to the "big" Munich Filmfest. Starting on Thursday, June 18 through Wednesday, June 24, 2009, the festival will showcase the world's best contemporary short films each night at the tradition-steeped Gloria Filmpalast in the heart of the Bavarian capitol.
Submissions are open to non-German language films of all genres (fiction, animation, documentary, experimental, music video or other) from any nation of the world. Films must not have been shown in Bavaria at a festival, in a theatre or on television before, and must not exceed a length of 15 minutes.
All non-English films must have English subtitles. The festival only screens 35mm prints.

7. The Times BFI London Film Festival 2009: Call for submissions
The Times BFI 53rd London Film Festival will take place from Wednesday 14 October - Thursday 29 October 2009. This highly regarded and anticipated event in Europe's cultural calendar attracts leading international filmmakers, industry professionals and the media together with large public audiences to London for a two week showcase of the best in contemporary world cinema.
Last year’s Festival hosted 191 feature films and 109 short films from 43 countries including a record 15 world premieres. 9. Locarno International Film Festival: Call for submissions
The Locarno International Film Festival’s short film section is opening the submissions for the Leopards of Tomorrow International Competition, dedicated to fiction films from young directors who have not yet made feature films.
Short and medium-length films (on 35mm, 16mm, or “standard definition” video, to a maximum length of 40 minutes) are eligible; priority will be given to films that have not yet participated in other international film events. Please note that animation films are not accepted for this competition.

10. BAFTA Rocliffe NEW WRITING FORUM: Call for submissions
Rocliffe are accepting scripts submissions for the next BAFTA Rocliffe NEW WRITING FORUM taking place at BAFTA in April.
Interested parties must send the following:
1. 10 minute Script extract for a short, tv series or feature (12 pages maximum)
2. Long synopsis - min 350 to a max of 500 words.
3. Short synopsis - max 50 words.
4. Cast break down and outline of each character that appears in extract.
5. Introduction to provide context, outlining where the extract fits into the overall story and must clearly state whether the script is a feature, short, or television drama.
6. A short writing and industry relevant biography - 150 words max – please be specific with titles etc.
7. Only standard script formats will be accepted.
8. Please include your full contact details i.e. name, email and a contact telephone number on your biog page.
9. You should only submit work if you are able to attend on 29 April 2009.
10. We will only accept a maximum of two submissions per writer.
11. All writers will be notified within three weeks of the closing date.

IMAGO - International Young Film Festival celebrates is 10th edition, from 26th September to 5th October in the city of Fundão, Portugal.

12. 2WEEKS 2MAKE IT 2009: Call for submissions
This year’s 2WEEKS 2MAKE IT competition is now open for entries. Musicians and filmmakers compete to make a music video in two weeks, from start to finish, and the best one, as voted by both the public and panel of experts, wins a coveted prize. Bands send in their demos. Filmmakers send in their showreels or an example of their work. After the selection committee narrows the participants down to a healthy number, they invite all selected to a special Launch event (8th, April). The competition seeks to attract musicians from Yorkshire and surrounding area, but the call for filmmakers will be nationwide. This will help to make the competition Yorkshire-centric and attract talent from all over the country to Yorkshire. The finished films will be screened as part of Sensoria Festival in Sheffield.
